Password Management

Creating a Strong Password Your password should:
  • Be at least 8 characters long
  • Include uppercase and lowercase letters
  • Include at least one number
  • Include at least one special character
  • Not be used on other websites
Changing Your Password

Go to Settings

Open Settings > Account > Security

Select Change Password

Tap Change Password

Enter Current Password

Verify your identity with current password

Create New Password

Enter and confirm your new password

Save

Save changes and use new password going forward

Two-Factor Authentication

Add an extra layer of security:

Enable 2FA

Go to Settings > Security > Two-Factor Authentication

Choose Method

Select SMS or authenticator app

Verify

Enter the code sent to your phone or displayed in your app

Save Backup Codes

Store backup codes in a safe place for account recovery
Save your backup codes! If you lose access to your 2FA method, you’ll need these to recover your account.

Login Sessions

View Active Sessions See where your account is logged in:
  1. Go to Settings > Security > Active Sessions
  2. View all devices with active logins
  3. See location and last activity
  4. Identify any suspicious sessions
End Sessions If you see an unfamiliar session:
  1. Tap on the session
  2. Select End Session
  3. That device will be logged out
  4. Consider changing your password

Login Alerts

Get notified of new logins:
  1. Go to Settings > Security > Login Alerts
  2. Enable New Login Notifications
  3. Receive alerts when your account is accessed from a new device

Privacy Settings

Profile Visibility

Control who can see your profile:

Configure Profile Visibility
  1. Go to Settings > Privacy > Profile Visibility
  2. Choose overall visibility level
  3. Customize individual fields if desired

Contact Information

Control who sees your contact details:
  • Email - Hidden, Connections, or Church
  • Phone - Hidden, Connections, or Church
  • Address - Hidden, Connections, or Church
Church staff and group leaders may always have access to contact information for ministry purposes.

Activity Visibility

Choose what others can see about your activity: Reading Activity
  • Show/hide your Bible reading progress
  • Show/hide your reading streaks
  • Show/hide your devotional activity
Community Activity
  • Show/hide when you’re online
  • Show/hide your group memberships
  • Show/hide your event attendance
Prayer Activity
  • Control visibility of your prayer requests
  • Show/hide when you pray for others

Directory Settings

Control your presence in the church directory:
  1. Go to Settings > Privacy > Directory
  2. Choose to appear or hide from directory
  3. Select which info is visible

Data Privacy

Your Data

SoapBox collects and stores:
  • Account information - Name, email, profile details
  • Activity data - Reading, journaling, prayer activity
  • Giving records - Transaction history
  • Communications - Messages within the app

Data Access

Access your data:
  1. Go to Settings > Privacy > Your Data
  2. View data categories
  3. Request data export
  4. Download your information

Data Export

Export your personal data:

Go to Settings > Privacy > Export Data

Choose what data to export (journals, prayers, giving, etc.)

Confirm Identity

Verify your identity with password or 2FA

Processing

Wait for export to be prepared (may take 24-48 hours)

Download

Receive email with secure download link

Data Deletion

Request deletion of your data:
  1. Go to Settings > Privacy > Delete Data
  2. Choose what to delete
  3. Understand the implications
  4. Confirm deletion
Data deletion is permanent. Export your data first if you want to keep records.

Control email communications:
  • Church Updates - Weekly newsletters, announcements
  • Event Invitations - Event notifications and reminders
  • Group Messages - Email notifications for group activity
  • Giving Receipts - Transaction confirmations

Push Notifications

Customize push notifications:
  • Messages - Direct and group messages
  • Prayer - Prayer requests and updates

  • Daily - Devotional reminders

Marketing Communications

Opt in/out of promotional communications:
  • SoapBox newsletter
  • Partner offers
  • Survey invitations

Children’s Privacy

Child Accounts

SoapBox takes children’s privacy seriously:
  • Children under 13 require parent/guardian accounts
  • Limited data collection for minors
  • Enhanced privacy protections
  • Parental controls available

Family Accounts

Link family members:
  1. Go to Settings > Family
  2. Add family members
  3. Set appropriate permissions
  4. Manage children’s access

Parental Controls

For child accounts, parents can:
  • Approve friend connections
  • Review activity
  • Limit features
  • Control content access

Security Best Practices

Don’t reuse passwords from other websites. If one site is breached, your SoapBox account stays safe.
2FA significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access, even if your password is compromised.
Periodically check your active sessions and end any you don’t recognize.
Always log out when using shared or public devices.
Updates include security patches. Enable automatic updates when possible.
If you notice anything unusual, contact support immediately.

Reporting Issues

Report a Security Issue

If you discover a security vulnerability:
  • Email security@soapboxsuperapp.com immediately
  • Do not share details publicly
  • Provide detailed information to help us investigate
  • We take all reports seriously

Report Suspicious Activity

If you notice suspicious activity on your account:
  1. Change your password immediately
  2. Enable two-factor authentication
  3. Review and end active sessions
  4. Contact support

Report Content

Report inappropriate content or behavior:
  1. Tap the menu on the content
  2. Select Report
  3. Choose the reason
  4. Add details if helpful
  5. Submit report
