SoapBox makes it easy to give to your church securely and conveniently. Whether it’s your weekly tithe, a special offering, or support for a specific cause, giving is just a few taps away.

Making a Gift

One-Time Gift

Go to Giving

Tap More > Give or find the Give button on your dashboard.

Enter Amount

Type the amount you want to give.

Select Fund

Choose where your gift goes:
  • General Fund
  • Missions
  • Building Fund
  • Benevolence
  • Other designated funds

Add Payment Method

Enter card details or select a saved method.

Complete Gift

Review and confirm your donation.

Recurring Giving

Set up automatic giving to maintain consistency:
  1. Start a new gift
  2. Toggle Make this recurring
  3. Choose frequency:
    • Weekly
    • Bi-weekly
    • Monthly
    • Custom
  4. Select start date
  5. Optionally set an end date
  6. Confirm setup
Recurring giving helps you stay faithful in stewardship and helps your church plan with predictable income.

Adding a Payment Method

  1. Go to Giving > Payment Methods
  2. Tap Add New
  3. Choose type (Card or Bank)
  4. Enter details
  5. Save

Managing Payment Methods

  • View all saved methods
  • Set a default method
  • Remove old cards
  • Update expiring cards
Your full card number is never stored. We use secure tokenization through Stripe to protect your information.

Giving Funds

Your church may have multiple funds for different purposes:

Common Funds

General Fund

Supports overall church operations and ministry.

Missions

Funds missionaries and global outreach.

Building Fund

Supports facility needs and expansion.

Benevolence

Helps members and community in need.

Splitting Gifts

Divide one gift between multiple funds:
  1. Tap Split Gift
  2. Allocate amounts to each fund
  3. Complete as one transaction

Giving History

Viewing Your History

  1. Go to Giving > History
  2. See all past donations
  3. Filter by date range or fund
  4. View individual gift details

Gift Details Include

  • Date and time
  • Amount
  • Fund designation
  • Payment method used
  • Transaction ID

Downloading Statements

Get records for tax purposes:
  1. Go to Giving > Statements
  2. Select year
  3. Download PDF statement
  4. Save or print for your records
Year-end giving statements are automatically generated in January for the previous tax year.

Managing Recurring Gifts

View Recurring Gifts

  1. Go to Giving > Recurring
  2. See all active recurring gifts
  3. View next scheduled date

Modify a Recurring Gift

  1. Select the recurring gift
  2. Tap Edit
  3. Change amount, frequency, or payment method
  4. Save changes

Pause a Recurring Gift

Need to skip temporarily:
  1. Select the gift
  2. Tap Pause
  3. Choose resume date (or leave open)
  4. Confirm

Cancel a Recurring Gift

  1. Select the gift
  2. Tap Cancel
  3. Confirm cancellation

Special Giving Campaigns

Your church may run special fundraising campaigns:

  2. Tap to learn more
  3. Give toward the campaign goal

SoapBox uses Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor:
  • Bank-level encryption
  • Secure tokenization
  • Fraud detection
  • No stored card numbers

Giving Privacy

Your giving is confidential:
  • Only church financial staff see detailed records
  • Leaders see aggregate data for planning
  • Your giving is never shared publicly

Tax Information

Tax Deductibility

Donations to your 501(c)(3) church are generally tax-deductible. Consult your tax advisor for specifics.

Getting Documentation

  • Individual gift receipts emailed automatically
  • Annual statements available in January
  • Download from your giving history anytime

Required Information

Ensure your profile includes:
  • Legal name
  • Mailing address
  • Email address
This ensures accurate tax documentation.

Giving Tips

Set up recurring giving to happen right after payday so giving comes first.
ACH transfers have lower fees, meaning more of your gift goes to ministry.
When you get a new card, update your payment method to avoid failed transactions.
If unsure where to give, the General Fund supports overall ministry operations.
Each year, review your giving and prayerfully consider any adjustments.
