Your profile is how others in your church community see you. Make it personal and welcoming to help others connect with you.

Editing Your Profile

Access Profile

Tap your profile picture in the top corner, then tap Edit Profile.

Update Photo

Tap your photo to upload a new one. Use a clear, friendly headshot.

Update your:
  • Display name
  • Bio/About me
  • Location
  • Birthday

Save Changes

Tap Save to update your profile.

Your profile photo helps people recognize you at church. Consider using the same photo across social media for consistency.

Account Settings

Changing Your Email

  1. Go to Settings > Account
  2. Tap Email Address
  3. Enter new email
  4. Verify via confirmation link
  5. Old email notified of change

Changing Your Password

  1. Go to Settings > Account > Password
  2. Enter current password
  3. Enter new password (8+ characters)
  4. Confirm new password
  5. Save changes

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Add extra security to your account:

Enable 2FA

Go to Settings > Security > Two-Factor Authentication.

Choose Method

Select authenticator app or SMS.

Set Up

For authenticator: Scan QR code with Google Authenticator, Authy, etc. For SMS: Verify your phone number.

Save Backup Codes

Store backup codes somewhere safe in case you lose access.

Connected Accounts

Manage linked accounts:
  • Google - Sign in with Google
  • Facebook - Sign in with Facebook
  • Apple - Sign in with Apple
To connect/disconnect:
  1. Go to Settings > Account > Connected Accounts
  2. Tap Connect or Disconnect for each service

Push Notifications

Alerts on your phone’s lock screen and notification center.

Setting Quiet Hours

  1. Go to Settings > Notifications > Quiet Hours
  2. Enable quiet hours
  3. Set start and end time
  4. Choose which notifications to silence

App Preferences

Theme

Choose your visual preference:
  • Light Mode - Bright background
  • Dark Mode - Dark background
  • Auto - Matches your device setting

Language

Change the app language:
  1. Go to Settings > App > Language
  2. Select your preferred language
  3. App restarts with new language

Bible Default

Set your preferred Bible translation:
  1. Go to Settings > App > Bible
  2. Select default translation
  3. This becomes the default when you open the Bible

Data Usage

Control data consumption:
  • Auto-play Videos - On WiFi only, Always, Never
  • Image Quality - High, Medium, Low
  • Download on WiFi Only - Save mobile data

Data & Privacy

Downloading Your Data

Get a copy of all your SoapBox data:
  1. Go to Settings > Privacy > Download My Data
  2. Request data export
  3. Receive download link via email
  4. Download includes: posts, messages, journal entries, etc.

Deleting Your Account

Account deletion is permanent. All your data, posts, and history will be removed and cannot be recovered.
To delete your account:
  1. Go to Settings > Account > Delete Account
  2. Enter your password
  3. Confirm you understand the consequences
  4. Confirm deletion
What happens:
  • Profile removed immediately
  • Posts become “Deleted User”
  • Direct messages remain for other parties
  • Giving records retained for church records
  • Permanently deleted after 30-day grace period

Data Retention

We retain your data according to our privacy policy:
  • Active accounts: Indefinitely
  • Deleted accounts: 30 days, then removed
  • Financial records: 7 years (legal requirement)
