Finding Events

Browse Events

Access events from the main navigation:
  1. Tap Events in the bottom menu
  2. Browse upcoming events
  3. Filter by type, date, or ministry
  4. Search for specific events

Event Categories

Events are organized by type:
  • Worship Services - Regular Sunday and midweek services
  • Small Groups - Group meetings and gatherings
  • Classes - Educational and training events
  • Social - Fellowship and community events
  • Outreach - Service and mission opportunities
  • Youth & Kids - Age-specific programming
  • Special Events - Conferences, concerts, holidays

See events in a chronological list with key details at a glance.

Event Details

What You’ll See

Each event page includes:
  • Title and description - What the event is about
  • Date and time - When it’s happening
  • Location - Where to go (with map integration)
  • Capacity - Available spots (if limited)
  • Cost - Free or paid (with online payment)
  • Who’s going - See friends who are registered
  • Contact - Event organizer information

Event Media

Events may include:
  • Cover images
  • Promotional videos
  • Attached resources
  • Photo galleries (after the event)

Registration

How to Register

Select Event

Find the event you want to attend and tap on it.

Review Details

Check the date, time, location, and any requirements.

Tap Register

Tap the Register button to begin registration.

Complete Form

Fill in any required information (may vary by event).

Add Guests

Register additional family members or guests if applicable.

Confirm

Review and submit your registration.

Registration Types

Adding Guests

For events that allow guests:
  1. During registration, tap Add Guest
  2. Enter guest name and contact info
  3. Repeat for additional guests
  4. All guests appear on your registration

Payment

For paid events:
  1. Select your tickets/options
  2. Review total cost
  3. Choose payment method
  4. Complete secure checkout
  5. Receive confirmation email

Managing Registrations

View Your Registrations

See all your upcoming events:
  1. Go to Events > My Events
  2. View registered events
  3. See registration details
  4. Access event information

Modify Registration

Need to make changes?
  1. Go to My Events
  2. Select the event
  3. Tap Modify Registration
  4. Update details or guest count
  5. Save changes

Cancel Registration

Cancellation policies vary by event. Some may have deadlines or no refunds.
To cancel:
  1. Go to My Events
  2. Select the event
  3. Tap Cancel Registration
  4. Confirm cancellation
  5. Check refund policy if paid event

Calendar Integration

Add to Calendar

Add events to your device calendar:
  1. Open the event
  2. Tap the calendar icon
  3. Choose your calendar app
  4. Event syncs with reminders

Sync All Events

Automatically sync church events:
  1. Go to Settings > Calendar
  2. Enable Calendar Sync
  3. Select which events to sync
  4. Choose your calendar

Event Reminders

Automatic Reminders

SoapBox sends reminders for registered events:
  • 1 week before - Save the date reminder
  • 1 day before - Event tomorrow reminder
  • 2 hours before - Event starting soon

Custom Reminders

Set your own reminders:
  1. Open the event
  2. Tap Set Reminder
  3. Choose when to be reminded
  4. Enable push notification

Notification Settings

Control event notifications:
  1. Go to Settings > Notifications
  2. Find Events section
  3. Toggle notification types
  4. Set quiet hours if desired

Check-In

Day of Event

Some events use digital check-in:

Arrive at Event

Go to the event location.

Open SoapBox

Launch the app on your phone.

Find Check-In

Tap notification or go to event page.

Check In

Scan QR code or tap “Check In” button.

Confirmation

Receive confirmation of check-in.

Family Check-In

For family events:
  • Check in all registered family members at once
  • Receive name tags for children’s events
  • Get security codes for child pickup

Recurring Events

Series Events

Events that happen regularly:
  • Weekly services
  • Monthly gatherings
  • Ongoing classes
For series events:
  • Register once for all occurrences
  • Or register for specific dates
  • Mark attendance for each session

Managing Series

View your series enrollments:
  1. Go to My Events > Series
  2. See ongoing events
  3. View upcoming sessions
  4. Manage your enrollment

Inviting Others

Share Events

Invite friends to events:
  1. Open the event
  2. Tap Share
  3. Choose how to share:
    • Send link via text
    • Share on social media
    • Email invitation
    • In-app invitation

Invite from Contacts

Invite SoapBox connections:
  1. Tap Invite Friends on event page
  2. Select friends from your connections
  3. Add a personal message
  4. Send invitation

Track Invitations

See who you’ve invited:
  • View pending invitations
  • See who accepted
  • Send reminders

Event History

Past Events

View events you’ve attended:
  1. Go to My Events > Past
  2. Browse event history
  3. See photos and memories
  4. View notes you took

Event Memories

After events, you may find:
  • Photo galleries
  • Video highlights
  • Sermon recordings
  • Resources shared

Event Tips

Popular events fill up quickly. Register as soon as you know you want to attend.
Always add events to your phone calendar with reminders so you don’t forget.
Verify the event location, especially for off-site or multi-campus events.
Events are better with friends. Use the invite feature to bring someone new.
If you can’t attend, cancel your registration so others can take your spot.
